A very good friend passed on a photograph that my wife volunteered me to reproduce in pastels. This is on Canson Mi Teintes pastel paper with a variety of pastels - Sennelier, Terry Ludwig, Rembrandt and Nu-pastels. I hope DP is happy with my rendition of her photograph.

Around 40% of Paddy completed on Canson Mi Teintes using Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencils and a mixture of soft pastels.

Well I have decided to do a pastel pencil painting of our middle Shih Tzu Paddy. Blending the colors to get it right is not so easy.

Hibiscus

All completed, matted and framed. First time using my matting equipment. Pleased with the outcome.  As always your comments are welcomed.

Hibiscus Update

The hibiscus painting is around 80% complete just the stamen and some background leaves and final touches.

I am entering a competition to paint a flower or flowers that are backlit. I started painting this hibiscus from a photograph I took some time ago while holidaying in Scotland. I will share the completed painting once I finish.
